Rangatungi United Women's Football Academy was established in August 2014 under the patronage of Md Tajul Islam, an enlightened man from the western part of Thakurgaon district. At first he didn't get that kind of response, but later he started practicing with 29 girls. This football women's academy has been established in the remote village of Ranishankail upazila, 47 km south-west from Thakurgaon district headquarters. Basically, with a single effort, he went from house to house and reassured the parents and brought the girls to the playground.
By taking care of the girls, they have developed a playful attitude in the girls. The playground is a kind of classroom. Where a child-adolescent-young soul grows up with the discipline of strict practice, discipline on and off the field, with the aim of always blossoming inwardly and outwardly. Through daily practice these relationships are built into ourselves unconsciously Where all conventional, disparities are thrown away, a player becomes a single human being. Respect, loyalty to others and discipline make a player a skilled player as well as a creative person.
With this philosophy, in 2016 JFA Under-14 Women's Football Competition organized by Thakurgaon Zilla Sansthan as the best team in the district, the runner-up team Hibebe in Rangpur divisional competition and qualified to play in the final round by participating in the national competition, followed by the same competition in Rangpur division in 2017. Achieved the glory of being the champion team and runner-up in the national competition.
At the recent Youth Games organized by the Olympic AssociationRangatungi United Women's Football Academy qualified to represent Rangpur Division of Rangpur Division for Thakurgaon District. 4 members of this women's football team, the pride of Thakurgaon, have joined the national team's training camp. Out of these, 2 got a chance to go to Hong Kong as members of the U-15 National Women's Football Team.
